I was born in Bitritto, a small town in Puglia province, the heel of south east of Italy.I started working really early at the age of 9 at a mythical Pizzeria called "Tranquillino" that means cool and quiet. The owner of that Pizzeria Antonio, already introduce me at that age of 8 to the world of food with Pizza, panzerotto, Braciola and Bruschetta. This was on of the last place left in italy of old generation: 6 kind of pizza, 1 appetizer, 1 beer and 1 wine and thats'it. I can say I learned simplicity too!
I worked in this Pizzeria until the college started, than I started working to another Pizzeria as Head Waiter(I was the only one) called Angoletto. At the college I obtained a diploma in Hotel and restaurant services and starting working in the year 1997 at an Hotel Mercure in the city of Bari as concierge and for different restaurant as cook and waiter.
During the years I worked in the hotel I started becoming more passionate about food and wine from my province giving more importance to the traditional way how to make food, so I did some courses about the Value of Cucina Povera in our culture and start learning more about this kind of cuisine from the lady of my closest family, from my mom to my aunt.
In 2001 I came in canada and start working for my aunt's restaurant called "7 numbers" www.sevennumbers.com as waiter, where authentic homecooking was served and I though this was a hand from the destiny. Thanks to this experience I started learning also more about homecooking from my Zia Rosa and practicing it everyday, from making the bread to make a meat sauce.
IN 2006 I also hosted a tour in the south of Italy where I share some good food and wine tips with my guests in Italy and I also organized in 2005 a tour of Italy for a reality TV that will be on this year.

In October 2007, I launched "Massimo in your kitchen" so I can do my favorite job: cooking and also eating!
